Celebrating the Light & Growth

Yesterday, we celebrated the Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day.
I love that this year, these two occasions share the same day. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year and with it, the triumph of light over darkness and the culmination of our efforts. International Yoga Day invites us to foster wellness, reduce stress, and bask in the peace that comes with the practice.
The solstice and yoga are connected by the idea of growth. The solstice reflects a season of abundance, energy, and possibility, acting as a turning point for what comes next. Yoga teaches us to stay present through moments of brightness and periods of challenge.
Yoga has given me support for my mind, space for my soul, and strength for my body. It has taught me patience, self-compassion, and the trust that progress comes through commitment and consistency. The Summer Solstice shines a light on how far we've come while encouraging us to remain open to what's ahead. The light of the solstice may last only a day, but the benefits of yoga stay with us all year long.
I'm grateful for the practice of yoga and for a day that celebrates both light and growth. May we all take a moment to appreciate where we are, embrace what nourishes us, and find time to lift our faces to the light.
See you on the mat!
Beth
